Recombinant Exendin-4 | Prod. No.: | E186 | | Source | E. Coli | | Pkg. Size: | 1 mg, 20 µg, 100 µg | | Storage: | -20°C Detailed storage instructions below. |
Description Background: Exendin-4 is an insulinotropic agent1 that is produced in the salivary gland of the Gila monster lizard. It induces insulin release through activation of the (Glucagon Like Peptide-1) GLP-12 and improves glucose tolerance.1 Exendin-4 stimulates the regeneration of the pancreas and expansion of beta-cell mass by processes of both neogenesis and proliferation of beta-cells.3 Exendin-4 is considered as a treatment for diabetes.2 Source E. Coli State of Matter Purity >95% by SDS Page and HPLC Storage and Stability The lyophilized protein should be stored desiccated at -20°C. The reconstituted protein can be stored for at least one week at 4°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted protein, aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. Endotoxin <0.125 EU/µg Amino Acid Sequence The sequence determined and was found to be His-Gly-Glu-Gly-Thr-Phe-Thr-Ser-Asp-Leu-Ser-Lys-Gln-Met-Glu-Glu-Glu-Ala-Val-Arg-Leu-Phe-Ile-Glu-Trp-Leu-Lys-Asn-Gly-Gly-Pro-Ser-Ser-Gly-Ala-Pro-Pro-Pro-Ser.
