Description
Specificity:
Anti-Mouse CD71 (clone R17217) recognizes the mouse transferrin receptor protein on the surface of most dividing cells.
1,2 The function of the transferrin receptor is believed to be mainly nutritional. Alternatively, it has been suggested that a growth signal might be provided by the interaction of transferrin and transferrin receptor.
Antigen Distribution:
The CD71 antigen is present on most dividing cells, including normally cycling In vivo hematopoietic progenitor cells, mitogenically stimulated cells In vitro, some primary tumor cells and most proliferating cells In vitro.

Formulation
This purified antibody is formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.4, 150 mM NaCl, 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide as a preservative.
Storage and Stability
This antibody is stable for at least one week when stored at 2-8°C. For long term storage, aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at – 20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Flow Cytometry: It is recommended to use the indirect method for signal enhancement when enumerating cells expressing CD71. A suggested method would be to stain cells expressing CD71 with 100 µl per 1 x 10
6 cells in a total staining volume of µl followed by Goat F(ab')
