This Allophycocyanin (APC) conjugate is formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (150 mM NaCl) PBS pH 7.4, 1% BSA and 0.09% sodium azide as a preservative.

This APC conjugate is stable when stored at 2-8°C. Do not freeze.

Mouse Anti-Human Inter-Cellular Adhesion Molecule 1 (ICAM-1) (Clone 15.2) recognizes an epitope on Human ICAM-1. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.

ICAM-1 is a membrane glycoprotein with a wide tissue distribution that includes vascular endothelium and many cells of the immune system. CD54 is weakly expressed on resting peripheral blood lymphocytes. Upon activation by mitogens, the CD54 antigen is strongly expressed on B-cells, T-cells, macrophages and granulocytes. CD54 is the receptor for rhinoviruses and malaria.¹

Intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) is one of an important cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) family transmembrane glycoprotein¹ and is critical for the firm arrest and transmigration of leukocytes out of blood vessels and into tissues. ICAM-1 is constitutively present on endothelial cells, but its expression is increased by proinflammatory cytokines.² ICAM-1 is a marker of endothelial dysfunction leading to damaging vascular disorders, in umbilical and placental vascular tissue of gestational pregnancies.³
