Recombinant Mouse IL-1 RII

Interleukin 1 receptor type II (IL1R2), also known as CD121b (Cluster of Differentiation 121b), is a transmembrane protein found on B lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, large granular leukocytes and endothelial cells. It is a decoy receptor known for its ability to buffer IL-1 effects.¹ IL-1RII is involved in the control of the proinflammatory state that takes place in the endometrium during the premenstrual and menstrual periods.² IL-1RII can neutralize IL-1 beta and counteract its effect on endometrial stromal cells, and may provide a new clinical strategy for the treatment of endometriosis.³

The predicted molecular weight of Recombinant Mouse IL-1 RII is Mr 64.7 kDa. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS-PAGE is Mr 70-80 kDa.

This recombinant protein was 0.2 µm filtered and lyophilized from modified Dulbecco’s phosphate buffered saline (1X PBS) pH 7.2 – 7.3 with no calcium, magnesium, or preservatives.

This lyophilized protein is stable for six to twelve months when stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C. After aseptic reconstitution, this protein may be stored at 2°C to 8°C for one month or at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
