Description

Specificity
Mouse Anti-Human CD49f (Clone 4F10) recognizes Human CD49f. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. This antibody is specific to the integrin alpha6 chain which is expressed on epithelial and endothelial basement membrane. The VLA alpha6 chain, which consists of a single disulphide linked 120 kDa subunit and a small doublet subunit of 25/30 kDa, is non-covalently associated with the VLA beta-chain (CD29) in VLA-6 or alpha6/beta1 complex or with integrin beta4 chain (alpha6/beta4) The antigen is also expressed on platelets, monocytes, thymocytes and T-lymphocytes.

Ligand/Receptor
With integrin β1 (CD29) forms VLA-6, with integrin β4 (CD104) forms a6β4 integrin; laminin and kalinin are ligands for these receptors
