Background:
Maspin is a serine protease inhibitor (serpin) produced by myoepithelial cells that inhibit tumour cell motility, invasion in cell culture, and tumour growth and metastasis.1 Maspin has been associated with prostate cancer, breast cancer, and tumors of the pancreas.2,3 It also has prognostic significance for pulmonary adenocarcinoma.4
