It is non-reactive with N. mucosa, N. perflava, N. sicca, Gardnerella vaginalis, group B Streptococcus, Candida albicans, Haemophilus influenzae type B, Chlamydia trachomatis, Trichomonas vaginalis, Mycoplasma genitalium, Ureaplasma urealyticum & Herpes simplex virus type 2. Background Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a gram-negative bacterium that primarily infects the mucous membranes of the urogenital tract, rectum, and pharynx. The bacterium is an obligate human pathogen that is transmitted through unprotected sexual contact with an infected person, including vaginal, anal, or oral sex.
