Open Positions

Downstream processing scientists work on Antibody/Protein purification processes. This position is part of manufacturing and interfaces closely with our production team and regulatory department. In The scope of this role will be to lead and manage scale ups in manufacturing, lead investigations of product failures and product improvements, as well as improvement and optimization of the manufacturing processes and equipment.

Location of Position: St. Louis, MO 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process purification including Protein A/G, IEX, and SEC chromatography of antibodies or proteins.
  • Filtration experience dead end, flat sheet and Cartridge.
  • Bioprocessing equipment experience such as the AKTA Prime purification systems and/or FPLC
  • Analytical testing using SDS-PAGE, ELISA, endotoxin assay, western blots, etc.
  • Working within a quality system, process validation, risk assessments, and characterization documents in line with our ISO9001.2015 standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement process data monitoring and process maintenance.
  • Experience in immunoassays such as ELISA and western blotting preferred.
  • Maintain technical information and operational records.
  • Work with Development, QA, Mfg floor to ensure SOP’s accuracy and usage

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry or a related field and 4+ years of experience.
  • A masters’ degree in Chemical engineering, biochemistry, chemistry or a related field and 2+ years of experience optional.
  • GMP and ISO Standard experience minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Validation, verification, and change control minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of immunoassays is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to succeed in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral skills are necessary..
  • Ability to accomplish goals under project team timelines
  • Exhibit a strong attention to detail and documentation control.

As a highly-skilled and experienced Finance leader, you will oversee our financial operations, be responsible for planning, forecasting and reporting the overall financial vision for the company to ensure productive financial systems. This vision includes the development of accounting, budgeting, auditing, internal controls, and sound business practices, as well as directing staff to fulfill this vision and the potential to integrate M&A targets. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize and have a hands-on approach to the company’s financial controls, reporting functions, and the annual audit. Maintain and continuously improve financial accounting and cost accounting processes and assure ongoing compliance with corporate regulations and those of other financial regulatory bodies wherever the company operates. 
  • Drive the annual budgeting and long-term financial planning functions. Partner closely with all functions to generate analysis, business case scenarios and insight into ongoing industry trends as well as company-specific key performance indicators. With several growth/investment initiatives underway, the Head of Finance will own the capital budgeting function and will ensure these efforts are and continue to be funded, budgeted, analyzed and measured properly in a financial context.
  • Maintain the liquidity position of the company, managing cash and short-term investment portfolios in accordance with an approved investment policy. Establish and maintain a reliable cash flow forecasting mechanism
  • Responsible for all federal, state, and statutory tax compliance
  • Assist in the creation of a strategic financial plan, including methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Assess financial risks and work to minimize them
  • Create financial outlook reports and ensure company funds are sufficient
  • Manage and track budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax information
  • Oversee all fiscal reporting within the company and create monthly budget reports
  • Build (reduce outsourcing) and supervise a finance team aligned with the company’s needs
  • Support the procurement function, especially for major contracts, to ensure the company’s needs are fulfilled while delivering savings and pricing leverage from negotiation
  • Report to and work with the CEO on all financial matters
  • Partner with senior executives in the planning, execution and integration of any mergers and acquisitions
  • Active member of the Executive Management Group and participant in monthly Board of Directors calls and scheduled Board meetings providing updates on the business performance, opportunities and potential risks to allow the Board to provide proper guidance and decision making
  • Operate with the highest standards of ethics, transparency, financial integrity and regulatory compliance

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; MBA, CPA preferred
  • 5+ years’ accounting experience in a managerial position (Director/Senior Director or Vice President)
  • Experience working with private equity-backed, middle-market companies
  • Progressive and relevant financial experience and expertise in a multinational context
  • Prior financial leadership experience in an enterprise that owns and operates manufacturing assets, preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of ERP systems and other accounting systems
  • A track record of effective partnership with other functions, such as sales, marketing, and operations (manufacturing, supply chain)
  • Experience in small life science company, reagents preferred
  • Multi-company and multi-currency experience, preferred
