Recombinant Human Angiopoietin-Like Protein 3

BackgroundAngiopoietin-like proteins ANGPTL3 and ANGPTL4 are secreted proteins mainly expressed in liver that have been demonstrated to regulate triglyceride metabolism by inhibiting the lipolysis of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins. ANGPTL3 is structurally similar to angiopoietins, which are vascular endothelial growth factors. The experimental results show that Angptl3 and Angptl4 function to regulate circulating triglyceride levels during different nutritional states and therefore play a role in lipid metabolism during feeding/fasting through differential inhibition of Lipoprotein lipase (LPL).
g deletion mutants of human ANGPTL3, it was demonstrated that the N-terminal domain containing fragment - (17-207) and not the C-terminal fibrinogen-like domain containing fragment - (207-460) increased the plasma triglyceride levels in mice. However, the actual molecular weight as observed by migration on SDS Page is Mr 54-59 kDa. Predicted Molecular Mass 53.2 Formulation This recombinant protein was 0.2 µm filtered and lyophilized from modified Dulbecco’s phosphate buffered saline (1X PBS) and sodium chloride (NaCl) pH 7.2 – 7.3 with no calcium, magnesium, or preservatives. Storage and Stability The lyophilized protein should be stored desiccated at -20°C. The reconstituted protein can be stored for at least one week at 4°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted protein, aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.
