DescriptionBackground Escherichia coli are gram-negative bacteria commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded animals. Most E. coli serotypes are harmless normal flora but can cause urinary tract infections if they enter the urinary tract. Some s can cause severe food poisoning. Immunogen A pool of E. coli serotypes O18 (ATCC #23513), O44 (ATCC #13736), O112 (ATCC #12804), and O125 (ATCC #12808). Specificity These antibodies recognize E. coli serotypes O2a/2b, O7, O11, O18, O44, O75, O112, and O125. Not all E. coli O serotypes have been tested. These antibodies do not cross-react with Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, or Serratia marcescens. Product Preparation Antibodies are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.
