Infections with Cytomegalovirus (CMV) normally cause mild symptoms and can even remain asymptomatic. However, immunocompromised individuals and pregnant women are at high risk for suffering damage from a CMV infection; approximately 40% transmit the virus to the fetus.

recomLine CMV is a line immunoassay that utilizes recombinant phase-specific and avidity CMV antigens (MIKROGEN patented method) to detect IgG and IgM antibodies and the avidity of IgG antibodies.
