DescriptionBackground Normal Llama IgG, whole molecule, is purified from normal llama serum using protein G chromatography. IgG is produced and secreted by plasma B cells and represents the predominant immunoglobulin isotype in serum, where it plays a central role in humoral immunity. Each intact IgG molecule contains both the Fc region, which is recognized by Fc receptor proteins, and the Fab regions that provide specific antigen binding, giving the antibody two antigen-binding sites. Llama IgG binds antigens such as viral, bacterial, or parasitic components and promotes their clearance through complement activation, agglutination, and opsonization for phagocytosis. This preparation contains sufficient endogenous llama IgG to effectively block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples and assay surfaces. It is optimized for use in flow cytometry and is also suitable for applications such as ELISA, IHC, ICC, blocking, and use as an isotype or negative control. References & Citations |
