Description

Description

Specificity
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody specific to DC-UbP
Background
DC-UbP is a 26 kDa ubiquitin-like protein from dendritic cells comprised of 106 amino acids. The ubiquitin domain in DC-UbP shares 28.6% identity with ubiquitin, but it does not have the conserved C-terminus Gly-Gly of ubiquitin required for ubiquitinization. DC-UbP is found in cytoplasm (particularly in mitochondria), and DC- UbP mRNA is expressed in various tumor cell types, but not in normal adult human tissues, which suggests a role for DC-UbP in tumorigenesis. In addition, DC-UbP appears to be downregulated during cellular differentiation and apoptosis.
