Antibody DetailsProduct DetailsReactive Species Human Host Species Mouse Immunogen Purified Recombinant Human FGF-6 (Accession # P10767) Endotoxin Level <0.1 EU/µg as determined by the LAL method Formulation This monoclonal antibody has been 0.2 µm filtered and lyophilized from modified Dulbecco's phosphate buffered saline (1X PBS) pH 7.2 - 7.3 containing 5.0% w/v trehalose with no calcium, magnesium or preservatives present. Storage and Handling The lyophilized antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for up to twelve months. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted antibody, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months. Country of Origin USA Shipping Next Day Ambient RRIDAB_2830111 Applications and Recommended Usage? Quality Tested by Leinco Additional Applications Reported In Literature ? Neutralization: This antibody is useful for neutralization of Human FGF-6 bioactivity. The antibody dose required to neutralize 50% (ND50) of the biological activity of Human FGF-6 (at 1 ng/ml and in the presence of 1.0 μg/mL of heparin, using the FGF-6 responsive NR6R-3T3 fibroblasts as target cells.) is 1.0 - 4.0 µg/ml. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change. DescriptionDescriptionSpecificity Mouse Anti-Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 6 (FGF-6) (Clone 27028) recognizes an epitope on Human FGF-6. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. This antibody will not neutralize the activity of FGF acidic, FGF basic, rhFGF-4 or rhFGF-5. Based on direct ELISA, this antibody shows approximately 75% cross-reactivity with rhFGF-5 and less than 10% cross-reactivity with rhFGF-4. Background Fibroblast growth factor 6, also known as FGF6, hst-2 or hst-1-related is a member of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family. 1,2 FGF family members possess broad mitogenic and cell survival activities, and are involved in a variety of biological processes, including embryonic development, cell growth, morphogenesis, tissue repair, tumor growth and invasion. FGF6 is the only known member of the FGF family whose expression is restricted to the muscle cell lineage during development, suggesting it may have a role in myogenesis.3 FGF6 has a dual function in muscle regeneration, stimulating myoblast proliferation/migration and muscle differentiation/hypertrophy.4 PubMed References & Citations1.
