DescriptionBackground Interleukin-27 (IL-27) is a novel IL-12 family member that plays a role in the early regulation of T helper cell 1 initiation, including induction of T-bet and IL-12 receptor beta 2 expression.1 IL-27 is produced by antigen-presenting cells2 and plays an important function in regulating the activity of B and T lymphocytes.3 IL27 may be a potential therapeutic agent against rheumatoid arthritis (RA) at the onset of the disease.4 References & Citations1.
