Antibody DetailsProduct DetailsReactive Species Human Expression Host HEK-293 Cells Immunogen IL-18 synthetic peptide ISTLS(Cam)ENK Product Concentration ≥1.0 mg/ml Purity ≥90% monomer by analytical SEC Formulation This recombinant monoclonal antibody is aseptically packaged and formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (150 mM NaCl) PBS pH 7.2 - 7.4 with no carrier protein, potassium, calcium or preservatives added. Due to inherent biochemical properties of antibodies, certain products may be prone to precipitation over time. Precipitation may be removed by aseptic centrifugation and/or filtration. State of Matter Liquid Product Preparation Recombinant antibodies are manufactured in an animal free facility using only in vitro protein free cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates. Storage and Handling This antibody may be stored sterile as received at 2-8°C for up to one month. For longer term storage, aseptically aliquot in working volumes without diluting and store at ≤ -70°C. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles. Regulatory Status Research Use Only Country of Origin USA Shipping 2 – 8° C Wet Ice Additional Applications Reported In Literature ? Immuno-MRM Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change. DescriptionDescriptionSpecificity SAIC-24B-4 H2/L2 activity is directed against human IL18 peptide sequence
ISTLSCENK. CPTC Clone ID CPTC-IL18-4 Background IL18 is an inducible, inflammatory cytokine that acts in homeostasis, barrier maintenance,
alarmin activity, as an enhancer of immune responses to pathogens, and as an amplifier of
inflammatory responses1. IL18 is a member of the IL1 family of cytokines and is abundantly
found at the mucosa and sites of inflammation. IL18 is activated by inflammasomes and other
proteases, but unlike most cytokines lacks a signal peptide and must travel across the cell
membrane through pores to elicit signaling. IL18 production differs depending on the tissues and
inflammatory signals received. Inflammatory signals such as lipopolysaccharides and interferons
can induce IL18. High IL18 levels are observed in many infectious, malignant, autoimmune, and
autoinflammatory diseases. IL18 blockade is being investigated as a treatment for patients with
rheumatic and oncological diseases. SAIC-24B-4 H2/L2 was generated in rabbit for use in immuno-MRM assays using a synthetic peptide derived from human IL18 that is carbamidomethylated at the cysteine, ISTLSC[cam]ENK2. SAIC-24B-4 H2/L2 also detects IL18 by indirect ELISA, but not by Western blotting3. Antigen Distribution IL18 is produced by many cell types of both hematopoietic and non-
hematopoietic origin. IL18 is particularly abundant in the barrier epithelial cells of the skin,
upper airway, and gastrointestinal tract. The IL18 precursor protein is cytosolic. Once activated,
the mature form is secreted and released to the extracellular milieu. Ligand/Receptor IL18R1, IL18RAP NCBI Gene Bank ID UniProt.org Research Area Immuno-Oncology . Autoimmune Disease .
