Background
Glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor family receptor alpha-3, also known as GFRA3, is a glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) family receptor1 that is expressed within the nervous system predominantly in the cerebellum and the spinal cord and in the colon, small intestine, pancreas, heart, testis and prostate.2 GFR alpha-3 may function in differentiation of embryonic cells expressing its mRNA.3
