Antibody DetailsProduct DetailsReactive Species Human Host Species Mouse Immunogen Purified human neutrophil elastase. Product Concentration Lot Specific Formulation This monoclonal antibody is formulated in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) pH 7.2 - 7.4 with no carrier protein or preservatives added. State of Matter Liquid Product Preparation Antibodies are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates. Storage and Handling Upon initial thawing, appropriately aliquot and store at -80°C. For long-term storage, keep at -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Country of Origin USA Shipping Next Day 2-8°C Applications and Recommended Usage? Quality Tested by Leinco These antibodies have been qualified for use in ELISA to detect human neutrophil elastase and in studies of inhibition and enzyme kinetics of human neutrophil elastase. Each investigator should determine their own optimal working dilution for specific applications. See directions on lot specific datasheets, as information may periodically change. DescriptionDescriptionSpecificity This antibodies recognizes human neutrophil elastase and inhibits neutrophil elastase activity by 90% as determined in an assay of elastase-mediated hydrolysis of elastin-Congo Red substrate. Background Neutrophil elastase is a major neutral protease present in human neutrophils and is released by neutrophils following stimulation with a variety of stimuli. It is believed to be a major mediator of the lung destruction seen in emphysema. In addition to elastin, neutrophil elastase can cleave other biologically active proteins such as fibrinogen and antithrombin and is released by neutrophils during clot formation. Function Modifies the functions of natural killer cells, monocytes and granulocytes. Inhibits C5a-dependent neutrophil enzyme release and chemotaxis (PubMed:15140022). Capable of killing E.coli but not S.aureus in vitro; digests outer membrane protein A (ompA) in E.coli and K.pneumoniae (PubMed:10947984). {PubMed:10947984, PubMed:15140022}.
