DescriptionSpecificity Mouse Anti-Human CD22 (Clone RFB-4) recognizes Human CD22. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. Specificity: Anti-Human CD22 recognizes the (Mr 135 kDa) cytoplasmic antigen of all B-lymphocytes. The CD22 antigen is only expressed on the cell surface of mature B-lymphocytes. Antigen Distribution The CD22 antigen is expressed on >90% of peripheral blood B-cells.2 This antigen is not present on T-cells, monocytes or macrophages. CD22 is expressed on most peripheral B-cell lymphomas and leukemias including hairy cell leukemia, but not on the immature bone marrow type of leukemia. Background Cluster of differentiation 22 also known as CD22 is a B-cell-restricted transmembrane protein, which acts as a negative regulator of B-cell signalling. CD22 also has lectin-like adhesive properties.2 CD22 is a good target to shorten the time required for Ab production, thereby augmenting host defense against acute infectious diseases as "universal vaccination."3 Antigen DetailsProtein Ligand/Receptor CD45RO, CD75 PubMed NCBI Gene Bank ID UniProt.org Research Area Cell Adhesion .
