IL-21R (NT) Blocking Peptide

This peptide sequence is located at amino acids 20 to 32 of Human IL-21R protein.

This peptide is formulated in PBS pH 7.2 (0.01 M Sodium Phosphate, 0.13 M NaCl) containing 0.1% bovine serum albumin and 0.02% sodium azide.

Store this peptide in working aliquots at -20°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid Repeated Freeze Thaw Cycles.

Interleukin 21 receptor (IL-21R) is a novel member of the class-I-cytokine-receptor family and is selectively expressed in lymphoid tissues. IL21R shows strong sequence homologies to the interleukin-4 receptor alpha chain gene (IL4RA).¹ IL-21R is an important amplifier of alternative macrophage activation. Collectively, these results illustrate an essential function for the IL-21R in the development of pathogen-induced Th2 responses, which may have relevance in therapies for both inflammatory and chronic fibrotic diseases.² IL-21/IL-21R system may represent a new target for the treatment of Adult T-cell leukaemia (ATL).³
