Formulation
This recombinant monoclonal antibody is aseptically packaged and formulated in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (150 mM NaCl) PBS pH 7.2 - 7.4 with no carrier protein, potassium, calcium or preservatives added. Due to inherent biochemical properties of antibodies, certain products may be prone to precipitation over time. Precipitation may be removed by aseptic centrifugation and/or filtration.
Product Preparation
This recombinant isotype control antibody features the variable regions of clone MPC-11 coupled to an engineered Mouse IgG2b Fc domain containing a LALAPG mutation to eliminate Fcγ receptor and complement binding. Recombinant antibodies are manufactured in our animal free facility located in St. Louis, Missouri USA using only in vitro protein free cell culture techniques and are purified by a multi-step process including the use of protein A or G to assure extremely low levels of endotoxins, leachable protein A or aggregates.

Description

Background
Clone MPC-11 is a recombinant mouse IgG2b, kappa isotype control. Originally derived from a BALB/c mouse plasmacytoma, the variable regions of this clone possess no known functional specificity or reactivity toward mammalian antigens. This makes it an ideal negative control for establishing accurate baselines in flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and functional assays by accounting for non-specific background signal.

Advanced Fc Engineering:


To maximize assay precision and eliminate false positives in sensitive applications, this recombinant version of Clone MPC-11 features an engineered Mouse IgG2b Fc region containing a LALAPG mutation.

Effector Silencing: The LALAPG modification effectively silences Fc-mediated effector functions which makes it perfect to be used with similar primary antibodies when needing a control.

Background Elimination: It eliminates non-specific background binding to Fcγ receptors (FcγR) and prevents complement activation, providing a truly "inert" control for both in vitro and in vivo studies.
