BackgroundMyelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG) is a membrane protein expressed on the oligodendrocyte cell surface and the outermost surface of myelin sheaths. Given its localization, it is a prime target antigen of immune-mediated demyelination. MOG is involved in completion and maintenance of the myelin sheath and in cell-cell communication. MOG is differentially expressed in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and in the temporal lobe from patients with schizophrenia. State of Matter Lyophilized Predicted Molecular Mass 15.2 kDa Formulation Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 50mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed. Reconstitution Reconstitute lyophilized MOG in sterile 50mM acetic acid to no less than 100ug/ml which can be further diluted in other aqueous solutions as needed. Storage and Stability Although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, the lyophilized product is best stored at or below -20°C. Upon reconstitution, product can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week but is best stored at or below -20°C for longer periods of time. Addition of a carrier protein (such as 0.1% HSA or BSA) is recommended for long- term storage.
