Background

HER2 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2), also known as ErbB2, CD340, or proto-oncogene Neu, is a 185 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family. Unlike other ErbB family members, the HER2 protein does not have a direct ligand-binding domain but instead acts as a preferred heterodimerization partner for other ligand-bound receptors (HER1, HER3, and HER4).

This recombinant human HER2 protein is essential for researchers studying cell proliferation, survival, and differentiation pathways, particularly the MAPK and PI3K/Akt signaling cascades. Overexpression or amplification of the ERBB2 gene is a well-established biomarker in approximately 20-30% of breast cancers and is also prevalent in gastric (stomach) and ovarian carcinomas.

Our high-purity, biologically active recombinant HER2 is designed for use in a variety of applications, including ELISA, functional assays, surface plasmon resonance (SPR), and as an immunogen for anti-HER2 antibody development.
