Description

Description

Specificity
Mouse Monoclonal Antibody recognizes the F1F2 polypeptide of human Factor Va light chain.
Background
Coagulation cofactor V (Factor V) is a high molecular weight glycoprotein that performs several critical functions in regulating hemostasis. In its thrombin-activated form (FVa) it interacts with Factor Xa and Ca+2 to form the prothrombinase complex. This complex catalyzes the formation of thrombin from prothrombin at rates substantially higher than Factor Xa alone.
Function
Central regulator of hemostasis. It serves as a critical cofactor for the prothrombinase activity of factor Xa that results in the activation of prothrombin to thrombin.
