DescriptionSpecificity This antibody recognizes human insulin and cross-reacts with human proinsulin, bovine insulin, and porcine insulin. 20801 reacts with C-terminal pentapeptide of insulin b-chain. Function Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.
