Background CD127 (IL7R-α) is a 60-90 kD type I cytokine receptor involved in the regulation of lymphopoiesis. The active receptor is an α/γ chain heterodimer. The common γ chain, which also associates with the IL-2 receptor, serves mainly to activate signal transduction via the IL7R complex. CD127 also interacts with the Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin Receptor (TSLPR). CD127 determines signaling events via its association with cytoplasmic signaling molecules and has been reported to be a useful marker for identifying memory and effector T cells. Antigen Distribution IL-7Rα is expressed on bone marrow lymphoid precursors, pro-B cells, monocytes/macrophages, NK-cells, naïve T cells, memory CD4+ and CD8+ T cells, intestinal colorectal and renal carcinoma cell lines, and keratinocytes.
