E. coli-Derived Recombinant Mouse OSM

This monoclonal antibody has been 0.2 µm filtered and lyophilized from modified Dulbecco's phosphate buffered saline (1X PBS) pH 7.2 - 7.3 containing 5.0% w/v trehalose with no calcium, magnesium or preservatives present.

The lyophilized antibody can be stored desiccated at -20°C to -70°C for up to twelve months. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for at least four weeks at 2-8°C. For long-term storage of the reconstituted antibody, aseptically aliquot into working volumes and store at -20°C to -70°C in a manual defrost freezer. Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. No detectable loss of activity was observed after six months.

Rat Anti-Mouse Oncostatin M (OSM) (Clone 157210) recognizes an epitope on Mouse OSM. This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype. This antibody does not cross-react with rhOSM, rhCLC, rmCT-1, rmIL-6, rmIL-11, rmLIF or rrCNTF.

Oncostatin M (OSM) is a pleitropic cytokine produced by activated T lymphocytes and monocytes that is structurally and functionally related to the subfamily of cytokines known as the IL-6-type cytokine family.¹ OSM either inhibits or enhances the growth of cells depending on cell type. It inhibits proliferation of skeletal muscle cells by blocking cell cycle progression from G(1) to S phase.² OSM is also a key mediator for proliferation and anti-apoptosis of hepatocytes which suggests that OSM gene therapy is useful, as preventive and curative means, for the treatment of patients with liver damage.³
