DescriptionSpecificity This antibody recognizes prolactin of the following species: rat, human, mouse, ovine, bovine, and squirrel monkey. The epitope recognized by this antibody is restricted to a region that includes the carboxyl-terminal disulfide loop that is conserved among prolactins from several species. This antibody also completely inhibits the lactogenic activity of serum or purified prolactin from rat in the Nb2 lymphoma bioassay. Function Prolactin acts primarily on the mammary gland by promoting lactation. NCBI Gene Bank ID UniProt.org Research Area Hormones/Proteins References & Citations1) Scammell et al.
