Background CD62L antibody, clone DREG-56, recognizes CD62L, also known as L-selectin or LECAM-1, a 74-95 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and cell adhesion molecule expressed on most circulating leukocytes1. Ligands for CD62L include CD34, GlyCAM-1, and MAdCAM-1, which require sialyation, fucosylation, and carbohydrate sulfation for recognition2,3. Ligand binding mediates tethering and rolling of leukocytes, facilitating entry into secondary lymphoid organs, including lymph nodes and Peyer’s patches, via high endothelial venules (HEVs)1. CD62L is also expressed on human embryo trophoblasts and has been proposed to play a role in human embryo implantation4.
Antigen Distribution CD62L is expressed on most circulating leukocytes, including neutrophils, monocytes, T, B and NK cells, and human embryo trophoblasts.
